Walking!

Elsie is walking! Taking steps and enjoying the world as a biped (but still enjoying crawling too!).

It is so fun to watch a child try at something, challenge him/herself, practice and succeed. She was standing and cruising over two months ago. Week after week she continued to learn and practice, gaining the knowledge and confidence to try it out. And with experience, she will become a pro.

When she walks these days, we put up our hand for a high five. Elsie is good at doing that too. 🖐

Frito

Recently, our neighbor and friend’s 17 year-old son grew out of his Leopard Gecko pet and felt like he needed to pass it on. He had had him since he was 11, but he lamented,  “I just don’t play with him anymore.” You could tell he loved the guy but his high school life didn’t pair well with the lizard. Our friend responded, “We are going to miss him.”

And with that, we took him in, learned how to feed him crickets, clean his cage, give him a bath, and hold him.

We have a pet and he’s just our speed (except the part where we have to pick up crickets for him every 10 days, but we’re learning!). Ian even has a theme song for him: 🎵 Frito is like a Dorito 🎵

We already love him so. Here’s to many more years with this little guy!
