Did you know that peanut butter and jam sandwiches are so much better when the peanut butter is spread on both sides of the bread? It's true. It makes the classic lunch fare that much better.
Do you mean both sides of the bread - or do you mean peanut butter on both breads that are being put together as the sandwich? So - peanut buttered bread face each other and are smushed together?
Perhaps, it is because of the quantity of peanut butter that is spread on both side. Of course the caloric intake would be higher, that is to say better.
To clarify: When the peanut butter is put on one side of each piece of bread so as it surrounds the jam.
And yes, higher calorie...but higher protein too!
I would also have to say that one can overdo it and put too much peanut butter on the sandwich, so less peanut butter should be put on each side than one would put on just one side at a time.

Wow, that's a lot of material on a sandwich.
My mom is a big advocate of both sides. She's been at it for years!
I tried this today... delicious.
